Research interests

The general research topic is cooperation and conflict between social groups.
Reseacrh adresses the social psychology of identity and relations and behavior
between social groups. On the one hand, we are interested in determinants of negative attitudes and behavior like social discrimination, derogation or even hostility and violence against outgroups. On the other hand, we analyse determinants of tolerance, acceptance or even appreciation of outgroups. In particular, we are interested in motivational processes regulating positive versus negative interactions between social groups.
